About Rossi Project Welcome to rossiproject.com! My brother Ross Maeda has been a figurehead in the motocross industry for decades. From his early years as a top SoCal pro racer, to his days as a test rider and engineer for Kayaba, to his current status as owner of enzo racing, Ross has made countless friends and has worked with just about all of our sport's heroes.
Ross was injured in a motocross crash on September 25, and he suffered a broken back. For now, Ross is paralyzed from the waist down, but he has hopes of making a full recovery, in spite of what doctors have said. Ross has regained feeling down through his lower abs, and also has temperature sensations in both hips. Most encouraging, however, is the fact that he has been able to regain some movement in his feet.
Right now is the most important time in his recovery process, and on November 30, Ross will begin therapy at Project Walk in Carlsbad, an aggressive program geared to help spinal cord injury patients make a full recovery. His ability to move his ankles is a great sign, according to the Project Walk staff, and that gives us great hope. Ross is also undergoing hyperbaric oxygen chamber treatments at the Whitaker Wellness Institute in Newport Beach, and believes that the sessions have helped him on his road to recovery.
As is the case with all injuries of this nature, the costs are astronomical. From the medical bills, to the therapy bills, to the day-to-day expenses associated with living with a spinal cord injury...it's all pretty overwhelming. So many people have already shown an amazing amount of support, and we can't thank you enough. The Maeda family has dedicated ourselves to doing all that we can to support and help Ross, but to be honest, we need help from his many friends. Please take the time to sign Ross' guestbook and also take a look around the site. We've got several ways that you can help Ross; from a simple donation, to purchasing several different support items. Thank you so very much for visiting rossiproject.com.
